Magnesium sulfate
Magnesium sulfate heptahydrate, with the chemical formula of MgSO4·7H2O, is a magnesium-containing compound. It is a commonly used chemical reagent and drying agent, appearing as white or colorless acicular or rhombic columnar crystals, odorless, with a cool and slightly bitter taste.

It is mainly used in the production of fertilizers, tanning, printing and dyeing, catalysts, papermaking, plastics, ceramics, pigments, matches, explosives and fire-retardant materials. It can be applied in the printing and dyeing of thin cotton fabrics and yarns, serving as a weighting agent for cotton yarns and a filler for kapok products. In the pharmaceutical field, it is used as a cathartic salt.
